How do scavenger hunt clues unlock?
Clues in Togra can have three unlock types:
- Location Unlock: Physically navigate to the mystery stop. When your phone enters the target zone (typically within 20–35 meters, accounting for GPS accuracy), the clue unlocks automatically with a celebratory haptic burst and historical reveal.
- Answer Unlock (Quiz / Riddle): Type the answer to a riddle, puzzle, or historical landmark question. Answers are normalized and verified locally.
- Location or Answer: Either path unlocks the clue, offering full flexibility whether you are walking on-site or playing remotely.
What is Haptic Pocket Mode?
Pocket Mode lets you walk with your phone in your pocket while enjoying eyes-up urban exploration. Gentle rhythmic haptic pulses pace your walk:
- Hot (Facing Target): Clean, reassuring pulse cadence indicating you are heading in the right direction.
- Warm / Cold: Distinct pulse patterns notifying you when you veer off-course.
- Arrival: A distinct victory haptic vibration when you enter the unlock zone.
Pocket mode uses smart foreground keep-awake and pauses automatically if you remain stationary for 3 minutes to preserve battery.
Can I play offline without cellular service?
Yes! When you tap Start Hunt, Togra downloads the entire hunt package (clues, salted verification hashes, stories) along with vector map tiles for that neighborhood.
The entire play loop runs 100% offline. You can walk through subway passages, remote historic gardens, or play in airplane mode without interruption.
What is Armchair Mode vs On-Site Mode?
On-Site Mode is designed for physical walking in the city with GPS unlock zones and directional compass bearings.
Armchair Mode allows you to experience the rich storytelling and historical riddles from anywhere (e.g. from home, on a train, or as accessibility play) by solving answer-unlock clues. Leaderboard rankings and XP are tracked separately so on-site walks and armchair plays are never mixed.
Playing with Friends
How do I host or join a Togra Party?
Any hunt can be turned into a multiplayer party:
- Open any hunt detail page and tap Play together (Party).
- Give your party an optional name (e.g. "Maya's Birthday Walk").
- Share the generated 8-character join code (e.g.
TGR-4F7K-9QX2) or direct link via Messages, WhatsApp, or email. - Friends open the link or enter the join code in their app and jump straight into the party in under 60 seconds.
What information do party members see about me?
Party play displays your chosen handle, your current clue index (e.g. "Priya · Clue 4"), and your finish time on the party board.
Crucial Privacy Note: Teammates never see your live GPS coordinates or map pin. Progress is shared by clue number only.
How do I leave a party or remove an unwanted member?
On the Party Board screen:
- Leave Party: Tap your own row and select Leave Party. Your handle and progress will be removed from the party board.
- Host Remove Member: If you organized the party, you can tap any member's row and select Remove Member to remove them from the group immediately.
GPS Permissions & Battery Life
Why does Togra request Location permission?
Togra requests While-Using (Foreground) Location permission strictly to check when you reach a clue stop and to provide directional cues.
We never request background "Always" location, and we never transmit your GPS coordinates, location history, or paths to our servers or any third parties.
How much battery does a hunt consume?
Togra is engineered for extreme battery efficiency. A typical 45-minute outdoor walk uses approximately 3% to 6% battery.
Our engine uses adaptive GPS sampling that dynamically scales down when you are standing still reading a clue or resting at a cafe, and map rendering is hardware-accelerated.
What should I do if GPS accuracy is low?
In dense skyscraper districts or historic stone canyons:
- Step into an open street corner or courtyard with a clearer view of the sky.
- Ensure your device's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned on (even if not connected to a network, mobile operating systems use nearby beacons for assisted positioning).
- Togra automatically adds reported GPS accuracy to the unlock radius so you aren't penalized by momentary satellite drift.
Reporting Objectionable Content & Abuse
How do I report inappropriate content or unowned photos?
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content, harassment, copyright infringement, and spam.
How to Report in Togra:
- Report a Hunt: Scroll to the bottom of any Hunt Detail screen and tap the text button reading "Report this hunt". Choose from three structured reasons (one tap, no free text):
Inappropriate— Offensive, unsafe, or against guidelinesSpam or scam— Not a real huntWrong place— Clues don’t match the place this hunt is about
- Report an Uploaded Cover Photo: For user-uploaded cover photos on public hunts, tap the photo to open the cover report sheet and select:
It's my photo— Used without permissionInappropriate— Not right for a hunt coverWrong place— Not the place this hunt is about
- Direct Email to Safety Desk: You can also email our moderation desk directly at rb@suprappstudio.com with the hunt title or join code.
Privacy & Moderation: Reports can be submitted anonymously (no account required) and use closed enum reasons without free-text fields to prevent harassment. Every report is reviewed by human moderation, and violating content is removed promptly.
How do I block or avoid abusive users in parties?
Togra has no public messaging, direct chats, or user-to-user profiles. The only place user handles appear is inside multiplayer party boards.
- Leave Party: You can leave any party immediately from the Party Board to stop seeing that group.
- Host Removal: Party organizers can remove any member from the party board at any time.
Account Deletion & Data Rights
How do I delete my account and all associated data?
You have complete control over your data at all times. You can delete your account and wipe all on-device records instantly:
Option A: In-App Self-Service Deletion (Instant)

Option B: Web / Email Deletion Request
If you have uninstalled the app and wish to ensure your server-side account records are deleted, email our data desk at:
Please send the email from the Apple ID or Google account address used to sign in. We will process and confirm your full deletion within 30 calendar days.
How do I export my data?
In the app, go to Passport → ⚙︎ Settings → Export my data. This generates a standardized JSON export of your completed hunt stamps, levels, and badge awards that you can save to Files or share.
